Laisa anderson

Laisa is the Owner and Director of The Dance Project in Burley, Idaho and Dancing Forward, a benefit concert supporting The Huntsmans Cancer Center. Laisa started dancing at the age of 3 and was performing and competing by the age of 6. Her repertory includes Jazz, Ballet, Hip-hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Character, and Musical Theater. Following high school, Laisa attended Boise State University, as a member of the Maneline, National Collegiate Dance Team. To further pursue her dance education, she moved to Los Angeles, where she studied at The Edge Studio of Dance, Tremain, and Millennium. Later, in Salt Lake City, she would train with Bonnie Story and Michelle Butterfield at the University of Utah, where she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Psychology. While at the University, she took part in Odyssey Dance Theater’s rendition of ‘Thriller’, as well as being a member of the pre-show performance groups for UFC, and for recording artists Rupaul and Alex Boye. She also danced for the Utah Grizzlies, Utah Blaze, Sojourn and TreeHouse adult dance companies, and the Voodoo Darlings, a local dance and variety company. One of Laisa’s favorite ‘gigs’, was dancing for Holland America Cruise Line, where she was literally able to dance around the globe. Today, Laisa keeps busy running her studio,The Dance Project, and Dance Fierce. She continues to learn, network, and grow as a dancer, teacher, and business owner, to help further the education and perspective of her dancers and the dance community.
